Wannes Destoop is a former student of the Royal Arts Academy in Ghent, where he earned his Masters Degree with Distinction in 2010. He submitted the short film ‘SWIMSUIT 46' as his final work for his Masters degree.
This short got selected for the Official Competition in Cannes 2011 and won the Jury Prize. Worldwide, the film got selected for more than 40 festivals and received 12 prizes.
Wannes shot his new short film ‘BILLY THE BULLY’ in the summer of 2014. Wannes’ films typically draw on the dramatic value captured in the deep human problems and disappointments faced by the 'little,' 'ordinary' people in their everyday lives.
