    Dave McCary is a writer/director/producer/editor, formerly creating short films at Saturday Night Live for 5 seasons which earned him 3 Emmy nominations and 2 WGA awards in 2017 and 2018.  Amongst his vast catalog of work over 100+ episodes at the show, Dave directed the Emmy-winning digital short “Come Back Barack” featuring Chance The Rapper.  

    His work has collected over 2 billion views on YouTube since he began his filmmaking career as one of the founding members of the sketch comedy group Good Neighbor alongside Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney, who both went on to join the SNL cast.

    His feature directorial debut, Brigsby Bear, was a Grand Jury Nominee at the Sundance Film Festival, a Golden Camera nominee at Cannes International Film Festival, and landed on The National Board of Review’s Top 10 Independent Films of 2017.  The film was acquired at Sundance by Sony Pictures Classics.

    Most recently Dave directed and executive produced the critically acclaimed HBO stand-up special My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres, co-produced by A24 and Lorne Michaels.
