Steve is an acclaimed director, well known for creating highly crafted, cinematic commercials with a touch of wry humour. That coupled with his seamless integration of post-production, impeccable performance and exciting sound design, it’s no wonder he’s at the very top of his game.
Steve graduated from art school in London and has lived in the city ever since, apart from spending 8 months in Madrid which started his life long love affair with Spain. He joined the BBC as a graphic designer and then graduated to directing promos before being taken on as a commercials director by Rattling Stick in London. Over the years he has won a huge number of awards for his directing, including the coveted Cannes Gold Lion and a number of D&AD Pencils.
Recently Steve shot HSE’s Quit Smoking campaign ‘I Will Survive’ for Irish International BBDO. A profound but uplifting piece filmed entirely with street-cast Dubliners who had never acted for TV before. The spot garnered a lot of interest internationally, with health services from around Europe using it for their anti-smoking campaigns. It won 4 sharks at the Kinsale Awards in the summer.
Steve has also recently shot the new Range Rover film through Spark44.
