Pedro Giomi’s ‘The Glitch’ Continues Success With Shots EMEA Win
Congratulations are in order for Caviar Director Pedro Giomi, whose powerful Alzheimer’s awareness campaign ‘The Glitch’ has just hit another milestone, after taking home the Silver Award for ‘Editing: Above Two Minutes’ at this year’s Shots EMEA Awards! The win was part of 5 nominations received including Best Charity, Editing: Above 2 minutes, VFX, Sound Design and Direction: 61 seconds-3 minutes.
Since its initial release earlier this year, the critically acclaimed campaign has gone on to be nominated for and win awards in over 20 creative categories worldwide at Creative Belgium, The One Club For Creativity, Design and Art Direction, The Clio Awards and more. Recently, the multi-award-winning film also picked up a Silver Award for Best Low Budget Production at the Ciclope Awards.
Produced by Caviar Brussels and edited by Rami D’Aguiar and Cabin Edit, the 2-and-a-half-minute film depicts Alzheimer’s disease as a ‘Glitch’ using unique data moshing techniques to depict the day-to-day experiences of Alzheimer patients, who frequently experience glitches in their perception of reality, often with harmful consequences.
The campaign has been particularly praised for its raw and authentic portrayal of the heart-breaking effects of Alzheimer’s on its patients and their loved ones, and was created as a joint collaboration with the German Non-Profit Association ‘Alzheimer Forschung Initiative’, to raise awareness and funding for their lifesaving research.
