Take The Leap: Ben Mege’s Last Campaign Puts A Musical Spin On Sustainability
The commercial world has a new instant classic in the form of singing sensation Billy the singing bass, who takes centre stage as the star of Caviar director Ben Mege’s latest campaign for Leap Wild Fish, ‘Take The Leap’. Mege is a multi-disciplinary director who has worked with several global brands such as Old Spice, Burger King and Samsung, who recently made waves earlier this year with his global ‘Thirsty For More’ campaign for Pepsi, starring Football Megastar Mo Salah.
Produced by Caviar Brussels in collaboration with Caviar producer Eva Van Riet and Madrid-based Marketing Agency LOLA MullenLowe, the campaign was created by free-range Fish brand Leap Wild Fish to educate consumers about the importance of shopping sustainably for the fish they eat.
Leap hopes the campaign will spread awareness about the disproportionate amount of supermarket fish sold that is farm-raised instead of wild caught, which unknowingly to shoppers is filled with chemicals that cause detrimental health issues to the ocean wildlife and its ecosystem.
In Mege’s zany 60” film, Billy is musically brought to life to interrupt diners before they tuck into their fish and warn them about the dangers of buying fish that ‘looks good for the camera’ but its taste says otherwise. Luckily, thanks to Leap’s ‘free not farmed’ guarantee, Billy reminds them that quality ‘good fish’ is never hard to find, all you have to do is a “take a leap” and buy farm-raised produce.
