Between Us

Film

Rafael Palacio Illingworth

Synopsis

Perpetual adolescents Henry and Dianne fear that settling down and getting married means giving up on their dreams — but it will take the universe conspiring to keep them apart for them to realize just how much they really need each other. Henry and Dianne are on the verge of settling down — that terrifying leap into home-owning, suburb-living, dog-walking, child-rearing coupledom. In short: they feel their carefree days as city-dwelling young adults coming to an abrupt and depressing end. Their heads tell them it’s the right thing, but their hearts are having second thoughts…and some unknown force seems to compel them, with that tantalizing question of “What if?” When all of their insecurities, fears and uncertainty boil to the surface during an explosive fight, the couple spends their first night apart in years. Each with their own demons to hunt down, Henry and Dianne will be tempted by the allure of another life, another lover, before ultimately realizing why they fell in love in the first place.
